Prismera was born in Melbourne in 2026 with a simple mission: bring enterprise-grade technology within reach of Australian businesses, no matter their size. We saw too many growing companies forced to choose between overpriced corporate IT providers and consumer-grade tools that left them exposed. We knew there had to be a better way.
From day one, we set out to bridge the gap. At the heart of Prismera is a belief that every business deserves enterprise security. Cyber threats don’t discriminate by company size, and neither should your defences. That’s why we built our entire service model around protecting, powering, and future-proofing the businesses we know best: Australian small and medium businesses of 10 to 40 staff, where the owner still knows everyone's name and an hour of downtime lands on their desk.
The founder
Prismera is run by Tom Hooper, who spent 18 years in enterprise security and identity access management architecture before starting the business. Most of that work was in environments where getting it wrong had real consequences: large federal government customers, Defence networks, and the identity systems that decide who can reach what.
That background shapes how Prismera works. The person who designs your environment is the person who answers for it, so there is no layer of account managers between the two of you. When you want to know what you are actually buying, you can read the written commitments rather than take a sales conversation on trust.
Outside work, Tom has completed 15 years as a volunteer with the Country Fire Authority. Turn up when you said you would, say what is actually happening, and fix the thing in front of you. That is the standard Prismera holds itself to as well.
